Nice combination of colors -- the purple at the top right, the soft pink descending middle flowers and even the subdued green at the bottom left form a kind of Z line for the eye to follow. As well, the purple and green colors act as a frame for the pink. Good eye! |

Obviously lots of brilliant color and detail. Also a play between the artificial and the natural. On my monitor the pavers look a little on the purple side, although maybe that's the way they actually were. The plants really stand out. Perhaps the sign could have been cropped out, as my eye was drawn to the right and away from the main subject(s). Very nice image! |

Joe, there are some interesting aspects to this picture. For one thing the sodium vapor lights give everything an orange glow which is so typical of primarily urban street scenes, so that places this area in a particular time and place. My neighborhood is switching out the sodium with white bulbs, so eventually the restaurant and surrounding area will take on much different color cast. This might suggest a harking back to a previous era, and give it a more antique look. Also, the sidewalk lends an interesting line leading to the opening, but that means that the details of the front and those items hanging in the doorway lose detail. I think having people milling about the front would suggest they are about to enter, making the business seem alive with activity. |

You certainly brought out the colors in this very creative, and different look at a Colorado autumn. Unusual texture in the water. I wonder, though, if the bright yellow at the top concentrates the eye too much on that part of the composition at the expense of the rest of the pic. |

Nicely done, Peggy. I love the placement of the yellow part (don't know what it's called), where your eyes head right for it, and the way the rest of the flower appears to radiate out toward the edges. Yellow, green, red and purple all combine to make this a very pleasing image. Looks like you caught this particular specimen at just the right time! |

Beautiful purple, and I always prefer dark or black backgrounds to isolate and show off the subject. There is a bit of a halo effect around some of the edges -- maybe use a blur tool to lessen the 'cut out' effect? |
