22 Dec 19 Comment Very nice job with your pano. Beautiful delicate colors -- very atmospheric. Has a bit of a Zen feel to it. I for one am glad you removed the trees at the lower right -- they detracted from the central point of the composition. The horizon is placed off center.
Just a slight problem with the brightness in the upper right inasmuch as the eyes tend to go to the light areas. I like your final result very much.

22 Dec 19 Comment You state that you were about a mile away when you spotted this -- is that the distance from which the shot was finally taken? I say this because it's interesting that, at first glance at least, it could pass for a macro shot of a rock that had been split open. i would have a tough time figuring out the distance from camera to subject. As the others have alluded to, it could be a painting, a wall hanging, or a photograph -- creative idea! Dec 19th
22 Dec 19 Comment Nice recovery from the original, Al. The subtle coloring gives this image an air of mystery, as if it is sailing from cloud bank to cloud bank looking for safe harbor. The fascinating story of the Mary Celeste comes to mind -- who or what is on-board, and what will be the ultimate outcome? Great job! Dec 18th
22 Dec 19 Comment This would make an excellent addition to the current line of Rorschach tests! One can see a large variety of (mostly) disturbing images in your final result; I don't think I would like to venture anywhere near this forest! An entire sic fi movie could be made around your picture -- I see a little of the extra terrestrial hunter from "Predator" as well as several different monsters from long ago b horror movies. Very creative and mysterious. Dec 17th
22 Dec 19 Comment Beautiful image Peggy. I have a preference for dark backgrounds, and here it really sets off the red and green. Just one thing -- since you were using focus stacking, shouldn't the green part all the way in the back also be in focus? Dec 17th
22 Dec 19 Comment You did a fine job of separating the various petals one from the other, which is not always easy to do -- it has a three dimensional look to it. In terms of composition, the bud does seem to be almost an afterthought, as if it is competing with the flower for attention. Dec 17th
