I blurred the man in the yellow shirt a little less because I wanted to portray him in a more prominent position inasmuch as he was an actual human, engaged with his phone, as opposed to to the lifeless mannequins in the store window. |

Really nice job here, Mike. I like how the rider and horse are heading this away and the sheep are heading that away! You almost have a "rule of fourths" here with the grass, then then the main subjects, then the sheep, then the brush in the back. One minor point -- you cut off the tail of the horse. Difficult capture in that everything was backlit, but you carried it off well. |

Kaylyn -- the beauty of this picture is in it's simplicity, elegance, and subtly. It has a somewhat zen quality to it and the minimal color just adds to the ambience, or mood. Even though I live in south Florida I've seen enough snow to appreciated the art in this image. I could see where a fresh snowfall could cover up the bottom of the bush.
Your artistic eye was on overdrive here! |

What a striking image! I started to get a headache halfway through your explanation, and in fact I'm still not quite sure how you did it! But you are to be congratulated on the skill and patience you've demonstrated. I'm curious about the book you mentioned -- is this image in the book or did you take images from the book and then process them into the picture above? Great job! |

Like Peggy says, the clouds are perfectly done. Maybe just one small area near the Ferris Wheel is blown out, but to reinforce Peggy's comment, perhaps a little too many of them. The left side could be cropped a bit, to bring the wheel a little more off center. No doubt that everything is leading in toward the wheel, which dominates everything else. Good shot. |

Very well done. I like pictures with strong, intersecting lines and curves contrasting with straight lines. With the exception of the river banks, all the colors represent man-made materials which strengthen the overall unity of the composition. What would happen if you cropped out the sky, in other words, "moved" the image over to the left so that only the structures were visible? Maybe even "moved" the pic down so that the parts under the bridge were eliminated. Not saying it would be better, just a different approach, more toward being an abstract picture. |

Yes -- you were very creative. I like the diagonal line formed by the flowers and how you have framed them with the yellow texture "swirls" upper left and lower right. It's good that you eliminated the out of focus flowers from the top. My only criticism is that the flowers, which are the subject of the image, have now receded somewhat and the upper left and lower right now compete as the center of attention in the composition. Could the flowers be brightened? Very nice image. |
