Nice idea here, Joe, and I agree about cropping the top of the picture. I like the sand, pale blue and gray coloring. Even though the image is placed dead-center, the flag kind of offsets in a subtle way. Strong visual lines leading the eye to the center of the picture and back out again. But perhaps most importantly, you have broken all known laws of astro physics by causing the sun to cast a shadow from two different directions simultaneously! Steven Hawking will be contacting you soon, I'm sure.... |

I love it, this is great! Calls to mind Rene Magritte, with the coloring and mystery inherent in the composition. The muted blues and grays sets off the bright yellow parachute. Nice line between the man and the jumper. Very atmospheric and can set one's mind to contemplating what is going on. Is this a composite? Very creative -- I might have cropped some of left side out, but this is a minor consideration. Kudos. |

Thanks for your nice comments Mike. There are lots of videos on Youtube about tower climbers, especially guys who have GoPros mounted to their helmets. Except for money to be made via lots of overtime, they are not paid as much as you would think. |

Peggy, a very interesting composition with the lines of the mast and rigging forming a nice diagonal "arrow" toward the left. I think the mono does look better than the color original. You did a good job with the vignetting -- maybe the extreme upper left corner is a little too dark. Nice and sharp and the contrast is spot on. This is a creative look at a sailing ship. |

I like the vertical orientation, the grouping of three, the golden tone, the bokeh of the background, and the backlighting of the goats. Would it have been possible to bring out more detail in the faces? Fine composition and good shot. |

You did a great job with the pano process, but I am curious if the line at the bottom of the ridge is bowed downward too much. Should the line be straighter, or were you intending to portray it this way? Perhaps there is a natural depression in the foreground. To me, the mono is overly contrasty. In this case I prefer the color version; the mountains, at least in the mono, which would be the main center of attention, are made to look more like piles of dirt because of the way they are over-powered by the sky and foreground. In the color version they stand out much more because of the color differences. Still, a lot to like about this. |

Vicki, your revision still appears to be too dark. I would be interested in hearing from the other group members about their monitor exposures. |

Beautiful view of the Tetons. The reflection, the tree line, and the mountains and sky form nice thirds. On my monitor it appears to be quite underexposed. I think the colors overall will be enhanced with bringing the exposure up -- at the moment they seem a bit too saturated. |
