Thanks Joe, I think you have a point here. I must have been thinking that there wasn't enough room at the bottom of the original although I could have filled out the bottom part of the image to accept the inner frame. |

I wasn't too happy with the border in the final so I went back and used a filter setting (brick, I think) to give it a more rustic look. |

A really nice end result, Vicki. Great action shot. There's no rule that says there has to be a frame, or even that it has to be square, but Marti's modification really adds to the picture. Still, you might be on to something with the absence of a frame, maybe blurring the edges to give the appearance of the player emerging from another dimension. |

I think Marti is right about the appearance of the waterfall in the image. The heavy branch extending toward the top distracts from the subject. Maybe a vignetting would help here. Stick with it -- almost every day I come across a bit of information in PS that should have been obvious, but I just didn't see it. |

Good job. I like the way you squared off the frame. I agree with Marti's comments about his right elbow. Perhaps the total image is cropped in too tight? |

Overall well done. I think you did well with your technique. I'm not sure about the choice of colors -- the red is a little too bright, especially along the top. Also, there is a white cut-out line following the wheel assembly. |

Good! Perhaps the petals that extend out past the frame could be a bit brighter. |

The only small thing that occurs to me is that maybe the white frame is
a little too dominant -- perhaps thinner and not quite as bright. |
