I disagree with David. I do not object to the soft focus at the left. I feel you have caught a great moment.
I might think about adding a little room at the right to the bird room to look into.
I might add a catch light to the eye. |

I like the capture. You caught a great moment.
I would like to see more detail in the cranes and possible crop a little of the top and the bottom.
I find my eye being drawn to the blue at the top

Great sharpness and moment. I would like to see the eye brightened and maybe cropped in from the left so the eye is not in the center of the picture.

Great moment, great capture.
I might try darkening the background as I find the light area in the upper left draws my eye to it.
Also being ultra picky I might try to clone out the straps holding the horse in place.
That being said I think you have captured a great moment and succeeded in showing the relationship between the two
