1 Jul 21 Comment To my eye this is a great study in minimalism with excellent composition, color, contrast. I think cropping takes away from the subject which is Big Sky Country. That maybe should be the title. Jul 5th

50 Jul 21 Reply Cindy you sure did make this better. Jul 18th
50 Jul 21 Comment Paul, you have made the adjustments suggested very well on both the color and the monochrome versions. Don't change a thing. Good work. Jul 18th
50 Jul 21 Reply It is overall a little too dark for my taste. Jul 18th
50 Jul 21 Comment Good job capturing the emotion and feeling. I love the eyes and how they are communicating with you. I took the color version and did some retouching in Luminar AI. Made it a nice color image with boosting exposure and playing with contrast. Cropped it square and burned the white building in background. One help for you is I suggest saving at 1200 pixels long side for all PSA work online. Love your Fujifilm XPro2 and lens. With that camera you would love higher ISO. I am at 2000 all the time. Luminar AI software fils well with Fujifilm imaging. Jul 16th
50 Jul 21 Comment A beautiful image with perfecti exposure, tonality and compostion. Flipping it made it better. Print it square and in a black frame for a wall. It is competition ready in my opinion. Jul 16th
50 Jul 21 Reply Kerry, that baby is in full speed working. Slow going. It has one operator. You cannot see him in the cab. The purpose for this machine is to raise the rails one tie at a time. It is laser guided and extremely accurate. To see it live go to YouTube and search on Jackson 6700 There are lots of videos. Im glad you are interested. Jul 16th
50 Jul 21 Comment Hey, Karl, better yet is fire up YouTube on your TV and do a search on Jackson 6700. There are many videos of how this thing works. Interesting fact is the machine can lift the railroad track by â…› of an inch. Also, one track or both. I'm nuts about railroad stuff and trains. Jul 14th
50 Jul 21 Comment Hole in the Island

Nice image with sharpness and mood. For me there is nothing wrong with replacing the sky. It seems natural to making a piece of art. I took it into Luminar AI and did one of their stock sky replacements. One that the setting sun fit the hole in the island. If entering competition I woiuld never use anything but my own collection of skies. Flipping makes it a little unnatural in my view. Straightened the horizon along with cropping to 16x9

50 Jul 21 Comment Great capture. Title it - Look Ahead.
1/400 will freeze about everything. The tires in background are simply not in the depth of field. I took it into Luminar AI to change the composition to 16x9. Added a little sharpening and a vignette. Straightened the horizontal. Just my take on it. You caught the moment perfectly.

50 Jul 21 Comment Love the subject for monochrome. In my mind, this needs to be a square image. I took it into Luminar AI to make it square and put the center in the exact center. Made a couple of slight contrast changes that seem to come naturally with Luminar AI, a tad of sharpening small details and, added a little vignetting. Jul 14th
50 Jul 21 Reply Cindy and Karl great critique. I did make your suggested changes and added a touch of vignetting. Take a look. Better, thanks. Jul 14th

92 Jul 21 Comment Good eye and you captured the kid having fun. I was finally able to get the images published corrrectly. The retouching did work very well. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Yes, it tells a story of abandonment. The weeds make the picture. Foe help I would make the sky darker. That is just a personal preference. Wish you would have included the original file. Jul 5th
92 Jul 21 Comment Timing perfect and so is the post processing. Red shirt and stop sign are in great contrast with the gray remiander of the image. It tells a story and really nice the know the rest of the story. Jul 5th
92 Jul 21 Comment Nice capture of a beautiful morning sunrise. It does work well breaking the rule of thirds. I have always thought that rule sometimes needs to be modified and it shows here. Exposure perfect. Keep up the good work.

92 Jul 21 Comment Picking this subject is a good idea. Pure documentary and street photography. You chose the right angle for showing the subject. Personally, I like the Monochrome best. Thatnks for showing us the original color shot.

92 Jul 21 Comment Agree with Marianne you can feel the intensity and concentration. The girl in foreground is taking in every word. Colors are outstanding. Composition is excellent. This picture tells a story well.
