David said it well. Personally, I like the mom's whole backpack in the picture as it adds to the story telling aspect. I sort of put Cindy and Davids comments together in another iteration. What is fun about making this into monochrome in PS B&W conversion is the control you have over the mom's shirt. Cleaned up the left side of picture by spot healing brush. |

Very well done monochrome. Its a winner. Color version is not near as good as mono. |

Mono version is best for me. I would rather not think about the sky. Great contrast and tonality not to mention sharpness. For help you might try to draw out a little more shadow detail at the bottom. You could dodge the guy sitting with lunch - slightly - in order to draw the eye to that spot. I probably would dodge the whole square box around him. |

For me, this needs to be panorama. I cropped it to 16x9 format. To my eye the tonality, contrast, and brightness are just fine as is. Its a good monochrome subject. |

Good eye to find that basketball. In my mind it is perfectly placed for composition. The tonality, contrast and sharpness are spot on. You certainly held the shadow detail well. For help, I would suggest dodging the backboard, if possible. |
