In my hmble opinion natural light always works and this proves it. Great image. No help to offer.
You might find the History Brush tool in PSCC works better than dodging and burning. The trick is the tool will not work if one single pixel is modified BEFORE you launch the history brush. The controls are unlimited. I use the Color Dodge and the Color Burn almost exclusively. Go to it first before anything else including a B&W conversion. |

Action shot with great timing. Good job.
Street photography requires no reward, however, I carry a card that has my Flickr address and after getting verbal permission tell the subject he/she can view it there. Also, they can download. Most everything I put on Flickr is PSA sized to 1024x768 so its not a big deal. I start the conversation by saying "My name is Chuck and I would ask your permission to make a photograph." Then, I give them a card and tell them why I am wanting the picture. If you intend to get the picture published on PSA website you must have a written release.
Incidentally, I belong to the PSA 365 Project and submit a picture every day of the year. That is the perfect reason to get permission to shoot the picture. I have never been turned down. People love to get their picture made.

Here is another version. Lots to work with here. I pulled out all the shadow detail I could with the tree trunk on right. Its hindsight to say stepping 5 feet to the left would show where the stream runs for some context. Nice work. |

The curved lines are full of interestingness. For me, there is a little too much contrast. Good work, good eye. |

Nice. That guy is pouring on the coals. I love trains. Very well done. Make it a wall hanging. |

Monument Valley. A classic. I like the exact center of the road rather than off to one side. For help, a little darkening of the sky may enhance the monochrome. You choice of portrait view is better than all the landscape views I see.
