David, Gordon and, Cindy: thanks for your comments. I agree with you. The sky is what captured my attention. This is a "flickr" shot taken as the last shot on the way to get in the car and drive away. The scene is Sunset View at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The railing on left leads down to steps. I will go back and do this again. |

Combining a rose, a book and, spectacles is always a great study in photography. In my mind your focus, contrast and sharpness are spot on. For help, I might have eliminated the dark leaf in center. Print it and hang it. |

What a great "capture the moment" in my view. Your timing is perfect, you must have played Rugby at some time in your life. For me, the goal post shadow in not meaningful or seriously distracting. Great subject for monochrome. Tonality, contrast, and story telling are tops. |

This is a wow shot due to the circle cropping. Makes me dizzy thinking about creating the picture while standing in the center (smiling). Shooting at 1/60 is exceptional workmanship. You retained sharpness. Good job. |

This image tells a story in my view. I feel the snowstorm and the cold. Your BW conversion is perfect with composition, contrast and shadow detail. A great work in Chiaroscuro.
In my opinion, your camera club judge was 360 degrees wrong. The neon green pants make the color photograph work as the main subject of the story telling. |
