Thank's everyone for your comments. They are appreciated. A tidbit is the background is not noise like in pixel noise. What you see is simulated film grain and it is by design. This Fujifilm camera offers more controls than you can imagine on your own. For me, I like sharpness. Happy New Year 2018 everyone. I look forward to seeing more Monochrome imaging. This is a great group. |

This old water wheel mill is so interesting. I feel your composition, exposure to show water movement, and contrast are excellent. A 16 inch wall hanging glossy print with a 2 inch matt and a 1 inch black frame would set it off. Or, better yet make it a dye sublimation print on metal with no frame. |

A good study in smart phone photography. Its hard to tell what this piece of art actually is. Looks like some old truck frame/undercarriage parts welded together. It caused me to go take a piece of the original 2 and play. A fun submission. Thanks. |

Very, very creative. Making this in monochrome is much better than the color version in my mind. I really like the blur. That makes the image even more mysterious and compelling. Actually producing the visual to match what was in your head before making the image is good work. |

Great reflection subject. I feel it is full of interest. The repetition of window lights makes it. A perfect subject for a smart phone. For me, the light sepia tone works well. |

The monochrome version is more interesting than the color original in my view. I like the composition, and tonality you have developed. I se shadow detail. For improvement, I suggest a little more contrast while retaining shadow detail. I took your original into PSCC and made a couple of enhancements with the history brush to bring out some detail. Then, made the monochrome version in PSCC where control of all colors were obtained. |

Good Eye!!!
Great capture in my opinion. It has excellent compoosition, contrast and, sharpness from front to back. I especially like the detail and tone of the conifer trees. Have you made a print? |
