Cindy, many thanks. I agree. Yes, I did make prints including a package of wallet size for his family. Interesting fact is he is the only full time employee of the Delta FD. The other 20 or so members are all part time paid volunteers. Quite an efficient and well managed operation. |

The tonality of contrast is moody and mysterious, very interesting and creative treatment. Nik is a go to set of tools. Good eye. |

Looks like two different shots to me. IMHO the place for this image retouching is photoshop. This, due to the fact you can crop and use perspctive control of all the angles. |

For me this is a great subject for Black and White. For help, I might have backed off a little as the crop is a little tight for context. The pier helps tell a story. Detail is there in the dark areas which is necessary. Well done. |

Very creative with the fog. Yes, I feel the moodiness and the foggy morning. Composition great, too. |

Great action capture. Perfect timing. Makes me want to be there. I feel the racing competitiveness. Good job and good eye award. |

Very interesting in Monochrome. You certainly held the detail and the contrast. I am a fan of black backgrounds for flower pics. |

Brenda, agree, the desert is different and very very dry here. Im 81 and can get down, however, getting back up is the pits, ha. (This getting old ain't easy.) Therefore, I dont get down much anymore. I do appreciate and thank you for the thought. |

Candy, thanks I do agree and like your version better. I probably should have submitted the single plant on the right as it looks to me like an anomaly. The plant on the left is more "nature like" is what I found in doing a smattering of research. My knowledge of wildflowers is pretty much infantile. |

Good capture of an interesting bird. Since I found out about the History Brush tool in photoshop why not give it a go to tone down that sky and brown. The trick of the history brush is you can ONLY use it with the original size image. If a single pixel is modified it will stop. So, use it first. The choices within the tool are over the top therefore, start with the color burn and color dodge choices. Takes a bit of playing around and worth it with an image like this.

The feeling I get is the background, being light, distracts from the animals. I would crop to the top of that little tree bringing more attention to the rhinos. The bird flying right to left is a nice touch. |

I love black backgrounds. Really makes this an outstanding image that the eye can explore the detail of the flower. My feeling is it should be printed to 20" wide and framed in medium oak. |

Interesting image that tells a story. I like the idea and capture of the takeoff. That big tree in the center is no doubt distracting.I played with the History Brush tool in PSCC to Color Darken the big tree and Color Dodge the birds. No other retouching. Just food for thought. Thanks for sharing. |

Excellent color, composition, sharpness. What I find lacking in this image is the detail at upper right and foreground. I know it is very difficult due to the limited latitude of the sensor. |
