In my opinion the composition and contrast really makes for great impact. Even more so is the detail of the spare tire which looks like one of those old glue on white sidewalls that has been there a long time. I do like the black car and black background. Possibly it would help to give a slight dodge to the rain drops on the hood making that part a little brighter - like the top of the fender. The History Brush tool in PS would be perfect for this. |

To me, it looks a little flat and gray. I took the color version into PSCC. Used the History Brush Color Darken and Color Lighten tools to play with the pods. Then, made the Black White adjustment layer. At that layer I used only the darken slider to get to a place shown in the attached modified version. Its just another idea, food for thought. I still like your version. |

Yes, agree, for me the lack of detail in the top pier makes it look strange. That could be helped by more of the top pier and enhancing that detail. I feel the image does hold your interest very well. |

This guy is posing for you with sharpness, contrast, and composition excellent in my opinion. Well done capture at the right moment. I would suggest using a larger lens opening and shorter shutter speed in order to take the sharpness out of the background. That only works if you have time to fiddle with the camera, which you probably did not. Well done. |

For me, the image tells a story of two people really having fun at the rally. Looks like a father and daughter team. I like the low camera angle. The picture has excellent post processing including brightening the people to make you eye go straight to them. Good work. |

In my mind the impact of the story telling is diminished by the very tight crop. Having said that the image does work well in making the viewer search for the WOMEN engraved on top of door. I like it. |

Pierre, My interpretation is this group is Nature Plus. ". . .instead of the restrictive PSA rules presenting nature, these images of animals, flowers, and other images from the natural world can show the “hand of man.” Hybrid plants, animals at zoos and game farms, nature scenes with a fence, and other images not allowed in the Nature Division can be presented in this group."
In my mind Black Canyon is nature. Agree, I see lots of birds here. Will try harder for some bird shots with the trusty 300 mm. Thanks for commenting. |

For me this is impactful with beautiful color, contrast, and composition developing. I feel it would help the image to color burn the upper left and lower left petals a little to match the top right. Good eye. |

This is a wow shot for me after reading your How I did It. I would like to see the bird cropped a little tighter so you could easily remove the tree branch on left side. Not so much as to lose sharpness would help this image. |

This is a very interesting close view in my mind. I certainly like the sharpness of the eye for the reason that is right where my eye goes immediately. |

In my opinion the composition, color and processing are spot on. Keeping the foreground for context is a good idea. |

For me, the image is cropped too tightly. Specifically, I would like to see the complete tail along with a little more of the cubs environment. |
