25 Feb 17 Reply I manually focused with the intention of starting at the closest point and moving back to the farthest point. The depth of field is so shallow that it is hard to see on the camera so I made small adjustments between each capture but as it turned out I may have made to large of adjustments. Also the photo stacking did not pick the sharpest part of each layer so I had to go in a adjust the mask on each layer. I learned a lot and hopefully my second attempt will be better. Thanks for your comment. Feb 11th
25 Feb 17 Comment Darin, this is stunning! I have just started trying out macro photography and I am impressed with your box. And I am amazed that I can't see the transition from the acrylic to the felt. The reflection is fantastic and the light seems perfect. You have set the bar very high, nice job! Feb 10th
25 Feb 17 Comment Marla, I have not tried street photography yet so I don't have a lot to add in that area but I like the colors you captured and the fact that there is action going on with the main characters. I agree with Vincent's crop, the extra people don't do anything for me. I think you have a keeper here, nice job. Feb 10th
25 Feb 17 Comment Eric, this looks like a beautiful setting but I agree the fall colors do look a be off or more brown than normal. You did a nice job capturing the mist on the water. I'm not sure if there is anything you could do with the sky as it looks like a cloudy morning but my eye wants to see blue or some texture there. Sometimes that's not possible. I have not used the NIK plugins yet but am starting to look at them because so many others seem to like them. I like how the grass in the foreground and the trees in the background blend together. Looks nice. Feb 10th
25 Feb 17 Comment Ruth, it looks like a very nice sunset but sometimes cell phone cameras just can't do it justice. I'm not sure which phone you have but for my iPhone 7 there is an app called 645 PRO that is very much like a DLSR with all of the controls. I use it when I want to control how the camera will capture the photo and it outputs a RAW file so I can make good adjustments in Photoshop or Lightroom. Feb 10th
25 Feb 17 Comment Vincent, I often forget to get down low to get a different perspective and it works really nicely here. I also like the that you exposed it enough to get some water smoothing but not to much so it still looks real. I might have cloned out the light in the trees and on the water but its not a big deal. Very nice! Feb 10th
25 Feb 17 Comment Audrey, I like both the color version and the black and white. You did a nice job converting the photo (which I have not done yet) and I also agree that the top of the finial does not bother me at all. Nice job! Feb 10th

36 Feb 17 Reply Thank you! I am just learning how to use the filters in Lightroom and adjust colors in different areas of the photo so I may have overdone the blue because in the past I felt the water and sky of most of my photos were to bland! Thanks for you input! Feb 13th
36 Feb 17 Reply I like it! I feel like I stay more focused on the rock and the waterfall. Feb 13th
36 Feb 17 Comment Richard, I have been there myself and have taken photos of the falls but as you are showing me I missed an opportunity and you have captured it nicely. The water and moss stand out nicely but I think the logs and rock on the lower left side of the photo could be a little darker. When I look at the water fall my eye gets drawn to the bright area on the left. I like the composition very much, nice job. Feb 10th
36 Feb 17 Comment Michael, you do a very nice job composing your photos. I like how the bridge leads the eye into the photo and to the building and then the smooth water draws you back to the nicely textured shoreline. I am amazed that this is a 61s exposure. I am curious why you used the ND 6S filter? Feb 10th
