I like the juxtaposition of the hard textured monument set against the lovely soft pastel background sky. Well captured. Perhaps consider an elk, bison, or wild horse in the foreground? |

Welcome Mary,
Some additional thoughts to ponder. To help redirect the eye to where you want it to go, foreground subject to mountain glow, I tweaked it some.
In LR I put a radial filter on the cactus, brightened it and warmed the temp more yellow and magenta as well, added contrast too. Cropped up from bottom to keep eye on the cactus. Then another inverse radial surrounding the cactus to darken all the remaining landscape a tad and keep the light on the cactus. Took a brush to the mountains with dehaze and contrast to bring out more detail. Finally a brush to subtlety brighten area between cactus and bright sunrise glow to help connect them visually. |

Magical moment well captured and processed. Wish we could all shoot a dawn together; you find some wonderful spots! |

The hook for me is the water, reflections, and grasses. To me the centered horizon places equal value on the sky and the water, so I am in favor of San's sky crop bringing more emphasis to the lower water section of the image.
Lamar thank you for your great group leadership these past years! Good job! |
