I agree with your great suggestion Pierre. I was leaning over to get down but couldn't get lower or I wouldn't be able to get up again! |

I think the tree is beneficial to the composition. It provides scale and some clues to the environment; we're not seeing the leafy top of a tree but an aspect of a large base tree trunk. It's growing right by the fence. The roof top we see has no visible sidewalls, so we are looking down on it from above. I must conclude that it's a very steep slope down to the dock, it's low tide, and the tidal range is quite large. |

To me the sea oats are the primary element and the fringe of oats along the top of the dune supportive elements that work quite nicely. The sky is like a watercolor; lovely. What was your shutter speed? Great texture and detail Lamar. |

I love the linear graphic qualities of this dock and the fence and particularly the lines, curve and shape of the dock question mark. I believe that graphic aspect is its strong point and could be emphasized by cropping up from the bottom; IMHO you only need a few inches of the top of the fence to ID what it is and form a base line to ground the question mark. Perhaps that even makes it a square image with a lovely color palette. The greenish/yellow tones and brown leaf litter detract from that palette. I'm so glad to see a controlled access door on the dock to the questionable neverland beyond! |

Great dramatic light, leading lines, diminishing perspective, C-curve, golden hour, moody sky, minimalist composition, palms and people subjects in silhouette, sun rays, angle of view just to name a few of the things I like about this image. There's sufficient DOF in the landscape, no distractions, and great light. A lovely stage well set with actors. Well done. |

Another grand landscape San! Look for the Light; find the shadows and you will find the design. Gorgeous alpen glow with soft cloud movement providing dynamic energy made possible by your previsualization of image and your conscious involvement choosing the shutter speed. The golden rosy glow juxtaposed next to the angular wild and raw mountains provide a balance and add depth beyond the colorful foreground. You've set a lovely stage for the actor, the bird, to enter. Good choice, and well placed in the scene to contrast from the sky. Pleasing color palette. Well seen, executed and processed. |

Love the simplicity of the composition; sea and sky and how Alcatraz dominates; it conjures up endless stories of the prison left to your imagination.
I pushed your story of the orange hour in LR with a ND filter warming the color a bit and a slight re-crop to make it less centered and add a bit of tension. |

Dead trees can be so awesome in IR; merging with the one on lower left has IMHO diminished its impact. Some highlights seem hot; might be retrieved with an adjustment brush and also setting the black point to bring more contrast to the trunk. Pleasing color palette with the channel swap. |

I like the diminishing peerspective, leading lines, perspective, use of space; atmospheric mood, and it has a nice visual flow. The stage is well set, but I feel it needs an actor such as the bride. The adjustment to the end of the passageway is an improvement. |

Totally agree re: the flag is now washed out. I missed that when it occurred in CLiR. It would add a nice punch; color is in the original..... |

The CLiR plug in gives many more choices than the 4 actions/channel swapping choices I received from Lifepixel. I think clicking "white balance" with show 5 choices, then you go on to other color adjustments if you'd like.
But sometimes one get overwhelmed with too many choices and simpler might be best. I'd prefer to use my time in the field than at the computer learning how software works. And I'm still not very proficient or comfortable with Photoshop. Lightroom is my program of choice. |

Thanks for your kind comments Chan. Even with the wide 35mm lens the length of the bowsprit was so large it was challenging to include it all in the composition with the anchors! A bit tight I feel as the base of the anchors was cut off. I had zoomed back with my feet to include it all and was flat up against a building behind me. Couldn't go back any more. |
