70 Jun 20 Reply Appreciate your comments San. Jun 19th
70 Jun 20 Reply Thanks Frans for wrangling that rope out of there! Nice vignette too. Jun 12th
70 Jun 20 Comment Lovely image. I might suggest working on tweaking the light and shadows on the diagonal ridge line to enhance their shapes and tones; add a bit more depth and scale. Jun 12th
70 Jun 20 Comment Remarkable composition; I see two strong diagonal X's as well as the vertical tree and waterfall making some kind of 6 pointed star type design. All the components seem symmetrical: centered and balanced and in harmony. The colors blend, nothing draws away or disrupts the flow. It has great depth and space to explore with no distractions. Well seen and developed! Jun 12th
70 Jun 20 Comment This single point subject is a stunning image San. It reminds me of a star-field of twinkling lights. The implied diagonal lines and lineal flow of the contours and tones create a compositional balance set off by the light on the single lone gold tree. Outstanding rim light and moment of capture. Bravo. Jun 12th
70 Jun 20 Comment As I study the original color image I hear the peepers but feel blocked by the three trunks on the ground and I don't discern a clear path to explore further into the scene. The new green growth is also extending out and blocking me.

In the B&W while I still don't see a clear pathway I don't feel as held back; it seems more atmospheric and open to wander.

70 Jun 20 Comment This B&W is certainly more epic and legendary with the dramatic sky and overall texture of the grasses and the effect of the wind on them than the color original.

Which has more value, the sky or the land? I think they're equal, so horizon is good where it is close to the middle of the image and what a bonus that it is in a nice interesting S curve.

Strong leading line to the lone tree focal point sets the mood nicely. Well seen and developed.

91 Jun 20 Reply Thanks Rick. Maybe I should go back & shoot again....... Jun 22nd
91 Jun 20 Reply Yes it does; ss 5 year+ sony shooter I love that feature; use it all the time when needed. Jun 21st
91 Jun 20 Comment Yes I felt the right branch needed more space but didn't want to go to PS to extend the canvas.
My vision was to be close to the tree trunk and shoot through the trees up into the sky thus eliminating the distracting bushes and grasses.
I used a little dehaze on the sky but didn't brush it out of the tree; that probably accounts for the over sharpened appearance. Will look harder for that in the future. Thanks.

91 Jun 20 Reply I have recently set my liveview to display in B&W and feel focus is easier for me without the heavy red tint. Time will tell. Jun 12th
91 Jun 20 Comment Your capture shows bright light and good contrast; just what IR needs to pop! The detail in the foliage to the left and the clouds are marvelous.

Did you set a custom WB on the lawn there? And are you saying you shot with the liveview monitor showing B&W? Or the usual red tint IR preview image?

91 Jun 20 Reply Yes, cleaning up background smudtz in Lightroom is not its strong point. Agree tree could use more space...... Jun 12th
91 Jun 20 Reply With the interesting sky and huge dead field tree I wish I had been able to get closer and underneath it enough to shoot up towards the sky and thus eliminate all the ground clutter. Jun 12th
91 Jun 20 Comment This treatment certainly focuses my attention on the leaf patterns, shapes and edges. The bright upper left corner draws my eye however; perhaps tone it down a bit to keep my eye on the plant. Always fun to see what Infrared "sees". Jun 12th
91 Jun 20 Comment The hook for me in this story telling image is the repetition of the shapes, patterns, textures, tones, and finally the patriotism and color to add impact. Jun 12th
