This image tells a story and compels me to look all around following the various lines. Has dimension and depth.
I think I prefer the simpler composition Glen suggests as it creates movement of the eye all within the frame without any distractions.
Frans raises good suggestion to try softening background contrasts. I would also darken the distal mountain top right. |

I too know nothing about full spectrum camera's.
Lovely moment of light caught, but image compels me to search foreground for details & interest which being so dark I can't see well enough. Can shadows be opened? |

Thanks Frans. Here's another second re-crop of original keeping original aspect. Thanks for all the great input everyone! |

Thanks Todd. My interest in shooting that morning was the fog and its wispy tendrils and thus the sky & changing light as the fog disperses. As usual the beach is pretty bare and I can never find any "foreground" interest and so at this moment I used the tracks.
I re-cropped trying for a more diagonal orientation of them. |

This duotone image evokes a time gone by long long ago. Composed of an ancient staircase with those unique trees rooting their way between the bricks to hold on compels the viewer to see them as marching up the stairs. Unusual subject with nicely separated trees.
Agree with Pierre's suggestion. Just for fun to see the effect of Lightroom's new Texture I put some on the central trees and bricks.

What a jewel! Spectacular place and capture. I prefer the second image as the "foreground interest" is more complete and it too has nice leading lines. |

This unique perspective of Rattle Snake Canyon emphasizes the wavy colorful fluid lines of the strata very nicely.
It seems you exposed on the highlights and succeeded without blowing them out. Shadows however are quite dark creating a deep vignette. I believe you can coax more information out of them which would result in a more even pleasing exposure. |

Good point Pierre. I'd loose a lot of detail from the tracks, which I felt like keeping at the time I posted it. But now I think I'll look at it again...... |
