70 May 18 Comment This image representing the best shot taken from your balloon ride of 2014 and processed years later to the best of your ability is something to be proud of. Good job. Full of the busy-ness and color and chaos of an early dawn complete with an element of risk. Imagine what you could achieve today on a repeat visit with current camera technology and post production software at your fingertips.

I think there's a lesson here in patience, perseverance, and returning to old images with fresh eyes.

70 May 18 Comment I'm thrilled with your capture of Roman Gateway. To me it is all about the Gate and the night blur of the taillights whizzing by. I find the lit trees on the right and the buildings on the left keep grabbing my eye and drawing me away to those edges and out of the image. So in spite of having a nice leading line of the curb, I cropped in tighter to keep the subject front and center. I also darkened the building. May 17th
70 May 18 Comment I often make a small print of my image and just pin it to the wall, jotting down notes for future edit tweeks to try on it a few weeks later. When I have questions about balance, negative space, or a color's accent role in it, I find it useful to study it upside down. If nothing jumps out at you, it's usually balanced in color and space.

Thinking of the red navigational buoys impact in this composition, you might want to flip your image upside down, blow it up to full size on the monitor and walk across the room to study it.

It's nice that the buoy doesn't merge with the reflections in the water but adds a sense of depth to the scene as well as foreground interest. Love the soft foggy damp feeling.

70 May 18 Comment I like the soft dreamy light of your image Pierre; perhaps some of the right side doesn't add anything and could be cropped out. Or does that space help balance the space leading in to the Lighthouse?

To me Frans' edit adds drama, a bit of tension and a sense of depth to the image. The Lighthouse seems closer and sharper and more impactful.

70 May 18 Comment Love the warmth, exposure and opening of shadows you added in post. A lovely moment caught that fulfills your vision of fantasy for the image while emphasizes the "dragons" in the water. Very nice. May 17th
70 May 18 Comment Pleasing landscape with nice leading lines, interesting clouds and warm light and colors. Slight vignette on edges keeps me centered; but I yearn for a grazing animal! Nice invitation to go explore up that road. May 8th
