Nice capture on the swing of that incense burner Israel... You got the timing down just right. I'm guessing this is a Greek priest... very intent on doing the job properly. I'm not sure what exactly he is consecrating so maybe, if it were possible, you could have angled a little behind him to also capture what was in the window. That in my opinion would have added more to the story, but still a sensitive image just the way it is. |

Very nice shooting Bob. Withstanding rain and wind in order to take hundreds of photos takes some real patience and dedication if you ask me. I actually visited the Rockport area several years back, but under much calmer conditions. I too favor your third shot... very dramatic with exploding waves and rocky coast. All three are fine images, but that third one grabs my attention a little more than the other two... that Atlantic can be tough. Good shooting. |

Hi Julie. I think you made a really nice take for bouncing around on a boat... stabilization or not. Yes, Oliver did make somewhat of an improvement, but not by miles... maybe a few feet or so. You know him! Nice image at any rate. |

Hi LuAnn. Agree... that wire is certainly a part of the story... as is the little ringy dingy, the nail in the slat, the shock of grass, the pealed paint, the dog, and the woman. I'm certainly glad you did not clone it into oblivion. It belongs there. I love those two in the darkened doorway... sets them apart. I can relate to this image because one glance in a mirror and I see similar wear and tear and what the environment can do in time. A meaningful photograph can cause reflection like that... this one is meaningful. |

Really a unique image Oliver. The color take reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth painting, so being from the Northeast (N.J.), I'm actually kind of partial to that style. A chap by the name of Walter Arnold specializes in photographing abandoned structures and vehicles. He has a website entitled "The Art of Abandonment". If you have a chance, check it out. His presentations are very impressive, but I don't think they outclass you at all. Nicely done. |
