Points well taken Shirley - I will try to diffuse the shadow and attack the head bokeh, I think especially on the right - thanks |

Shirley wants to stay in the cabin?? - I want to take that floatplane around the patch. That looks like a de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter (which it is cause I looked it up) - I love airplanes and use to fly - age and ticker issues have slowed me down. Anyway, I love the shot - I might crop tighter from the right and I would certainly follow Shirley's advice (except for the cabin part). I need to get some airplane shots on DD - thanks for reminding. |

Yeah Al - this to me is photography at its best. For my money, monotone was the way to go. Not necessarily here, but too often colors tend to confuse the subject matter. Here you have isolated the singer in mid song with her hat, the mic and the well focused fiddle - vignette is sweet and love that diagonality too . Yeah, you done very well - take next month off. |

Very nice Hung - your stage photography has always amazed me. I like the position of the performers, but would crop out the leg of the guy along the lower right edge - maybe cloning would be better - agree with Shirley about the hot spots, but overall a very dramatic, colorful image. You done good. |

Lights, camera, action! This is a real action shot Shirley - the concentrated look and hand grip on the oar say it all. I think you did well with the 1/2000 second and f/5.6 - froze the water/droplets while giving a softness to the background - that kept focus on that daring young man in his water machine. Great coloration too. You know you want to take one down river! |

To me this image has a great tropical feel about it. I really like the tree and stump reflections in the billabong (not sure exactly what a billabong is, but I think we may have one in our back yard too). The only thing I might do if this shot were mine would be to warm it up a little with some yellow toner. Really a nice image as is. |

Great shot Piers - got your engine well positioned in that upper left third and then the tracks leading in - nice coloration and reflection as Shirley so well pointe out. Not sure there is really anything else that would improve it. |

Actually Donna, I think you nailed it as is. I like the way you handled the background/subject - the lines, symmetry, reflections and curves stand out. It is very artistic in my opinion and if you do improve it, I would certainly like to see that - If anything, change the name to "Black Beauty" -its a classic.
(not in your group, but couldn't resist a comment on this one)
