I like it Harry - sharp - nice separation of tones and nice contrast. Cropped just right too. You obviously did not monkey around with this one. |

Piers - birders in our club generally shoot with ISO"s ranging from 800 to 1200. I have tried that but don't normally get the same results that they seem to get - especially with hummingbirds. Still, you have a very nice image and I do tend to agree with Shirley in that you can probably improve it with some minor adjustments. It's a good one. |

Shirley, I generally love your style of photography and photo editing, but I just don't think HDR was the way to go on this one. I downloaded both shots and realize you did some straitening and brightened the face of the lightkeeper's house which in my opinion where honest gains, but the HDR produced some darkness in the area of the clouds and gave a somewhat grainey appearance to the tower and structures. In the original shot the blues were bluer, the whites were whiter and there was a softness to the shadows. In my opinion some light dodging on the original shot in those areas would have been all that was needed. I like the verticality and quaintness of the image, but HDR in my view did not do it justice. I'm probably just ornery tonight. |

Very artistic in appearance Hung. I really like the abstract look, and cannot suggest any improvement other than to try converting to B&W to just see what that might look like. This one is very pleasing as is - nice job. |
