I wished to capture as much detail as possible while still presenting a sense of softness. I could have used a wider aperture, but I was also doing single-image captures and was lazy about changing the aperture. d;¬{D |

There's a lot going on in this image - maybe too much. I wondered what it would look like with some of the foliage removed from the center and right. Thoughts? |

I agree with Robbin about the leaves in the upper right. I also found the plant in the lower right a bit distracting.
I removed the distractions and enhanced the saturation of the blues to give them more emphasis with all the green. Thoughts? |

I love Civil War reenactments. I have been to a few in my day - great photography fodder.
The viewer's expectation for this type of subject is monochrome, although typically not black and white. Here's an example of a more period-style:

Love the leading lines that draw your eye right into the image. The contrast of the warmth with the snow makes for an interesting study. I likes it as it is. |

For me, it gives the impression of almost stained glass. I'd love to see the original capture. |

Fascinating capture, Albert. Love the different zones. I agree it was a bit dark so had a play at brightening it a bit and removing some of the noise. |

I was just being lazy with the small aperture. I was also capturing single images. You are right that I should have been using a larger aperture. |
