Here's a redo of the image. Hopefully it's a bit better. |

It's surprising to me that the softness of this image is not as distracting as I first thought. I do think it could use a little touch of clarity. I was also bothered a bit by the top leaf being cut off. Here's my modifications. Thoughts? |

Very thought-provoking, Fred. The black squiggles of the background I feel are pulling too much focus, so I removed them. Thoughts? |

Bev - your main image and original are the same image. Can we see the actual original? |

Closest thing to Vivesa's Structure would be a combination of Clarity & Texture in Lightroom. |

Miriam definitely finished your image well. I like the reflection as a focal point in the window. |

Lovely image, especially after Miriam's crop. I can't think of anything else I would change. |

Love the fall colors and the leading line of the fence.
I cropped a little in from the left to move the main tree onto the third line, removed the red in the bottom left and reworked your sky colors. Thoughts? |

I think the crop Rusty suggested worked well. I did a little dodging to give more emphasis to the sunbeams. Thoughts? |

Fun, Rusty! I imagine you saw a lot of the back end of this bird.
I took it into Photoshop, darkened the grass, added clarity to the bird. Thoughts? |

I totally agree with the crop. I also brightened their eyes a bit and darkened the grass some to help the cats pop more |

I think the rock AND shells are distracting from the great shot of the frog. Here's my take on it. Thoughts? |

For any insects, the head - and eyes especially - are essential. It's rather hard to get a good shot when you're rushing, so set aside more time. I also suggest you get a set of insect pins - size 0 - to help you position your subjects for the best effect. |

Perfect title, Pat! The cookie in the background really sets the context for image. |

Great detail and composition. The flower really pops nicely. My only gripe is that too much of the leaves and their hairs are in focus, actually pulling focus away from the flower. Here's my take. Thoughts? |

I think you got the most important part of the mantis in focus - the head. The only issue I found was the background behind the insect's head. I desaturated that area to help pop the mantis' head. Thoughts? |

Lovely colors and definitely draws the eye towards the tiny flower. I feel the DOF was just a touch too shallow and so added a bit of clarity to the closer petals. Thoughts? |
