So simple and yet complex in its simplicity, that's the simple truth. d;¬{D IOW, I really enjoyed studying this image. The horizontal bar that is somewhat anomalous, also gives the eye a focal point to start exploring from. At first I thought it should go, but the more I study it, the more I feel like it belongs there. Hmmm... |

Monochrome was the right choice for this powerful portrait. I especially like the reflection that is looking away, giving us an additional view into this stately gentleman. This is a keeper, Dan! |

Sweet image. I don't care for many high-key images, but this is a keeper. Very wall-worthy. You have enough detail where it counts but the softness is equally present. Nice job! |

Excellent sport shot, Miriam! You froze the action at a great moment and the detail in their faces tells a strong story. I have nothing to suggest in the way of adjustments. Bravo! |

Wonderful photojournalism shot. I think you can strengthen your composition by cropping in closer on your subject and reducing the brightness of the wall. Here's my reendition: |

Simplify is part of the Studio 2 suite, and you can also access the original plugin from just about anywhere. |

I recently learned that you're off to greener pastures and won't be sharing more of your macros with us. I do hope you continue to explore the world that we normally cannot see and check in on our experiments from time to time. You will be missed. d:¬{( |

If not a daisy, what would you think it to be?
I'm on the fence about the stray petal, though I chose to frame it as the subject. I guess I thought it made this image a bit more unique from typical daisy macros. |

Super job, Carol! I've not been successful at getting a shot of one of these live and don't know if I could get as good a capture. No need for stacking, as you have the eyes in focus and that's what's so fascinating about the jumpers. I'm jealous! |

Amazing detail, Barbara! It's so cool that your stuffed animal was so patient about holding still for you. d;¬{D
The only thing that bothers me a wee bit is the nose kinda pointing to the left while the eyes appear to be looking straight at the camera. It's not something that would be as noticeable if the image wasn't so close to the subject. I cloned the left side onto the right to kinda demonstrate what I'm talking about: |

I agree that going in tight calls for everything in focus, but I got lazy with this one as my test shot (this one) looked quite good to me. Oh well, if we had the perfect shot there'd be no need for study groups now would there? d;¬{D |

I tried boosting the whites when I processed this and they started to clip if I went any farther. Hmmm... |

As I studied the result from Topaz Denoise AI, it almost looked a little too soft, so I then processed it in Topaz Sharpen AI. What do you think? |

Fascinating subject choice with lots of texture and dimensionality.
Perhaps my eyes are going wonky, but this almost looks over-sharpened to me - approaching a bit crispy. As I studied it, I got the sense that there was some color noise going on, so I processed it in Topaz Denoise AI: |

If more space was added to the bottom right corner, the flower would have seemed crowded against the opposite corner: |

Excellent shot, Bill! Holding your breath while taking this seems to have worked quite well for you, though I was taught to slowly exhale and take the shot before starting to inhale. I may have to experiment with the latter now. d;¬{D
I think Bev is right about blurring the background to remove the distractions. I also think your crop works well for this subject. |

I wish it had been soft, too. I decided to try to do a single capture, but it didn't quite make it. Sometimes I just don't feel like doing a stack - guess I have my lazy streaks. d;¬{D |

It is, but not too bad for a single image with the DOF achieved I thought.
Did you find it distracting? |
