The lighting in the sky is gorgeous. I agree with Judy's ideas and comments and do seem to be more attracted to her revision. Her rendition takes out the distractions of the lines and poles and puts the tree at a more interesting location in the composition. |

A very nice photo to show the 'end of the day' colors and subject matter. I tried to just dodge the main boats and the sea by them just a tiny bit to see if that would define them a bit more in the scene. Don't know if it's an improvement or not. |

This is a beautiful shot with the colors, the shadows in the front, the golden sunset light and the pier going out to the ship. Lots of good items from which to make for a good photo. I also think it might be interesting to have it at an angle which would bring out the ship more. I don't think clouds would have improved this and might just be a distraction. Sometimes just the gradation of the sunset colors adds to the subjects of the photo. I hear more storms are coming in. Time to grab that Sony. |

Wonderful lighting from the lights of the boats and harbor. This is such a beautiful shot. I like both of the ideas from Tom and Judy. However, if all the sky is cropped out, then the composition seems less interesting, which could only be changed by a different perspective when taking the photo. But definitely darkening the sky seems to help quite a bit. |

I really love the composition of this photo. I'm glad you explained about using the Gold-N-Blue Polarizer. The results are quite wonderful, in my opinion. The coloring works well with this subject matter. It creates an even more calming mood. If it was warmer, it just wouldn't have the same effect. I think it is great just the way it is. I don't have any suggestions for improvements. |
