Thanks for your comments. This image was taken just at sunrise and the shadowed areas - as they were seen - are fairly well represented in the image you see. |

Very nice! You could perhaps compose out or crop out the subsidiary tower at the left margin which adds unnecessary visual weight to that side of the otherwise symmetric image. |

The shadows of the day bring out the contours of the hillside very effectively. Also the patches of green adjoining the wheat color of the fields effectively adds character to the composition. Well seen and captured. |

Everything about this image works ! One of the great draws of the Southwest is that the arid weather makes things last forever. Civilization here, such as it was, has long since departed this desolate area, and your composition worthily presents elements that completely characterize it. |

I think "magical moment" fittingly describes this work. The overall mood here formed from the lush vegetation that fills the entire frame, the almost-golden glow of the light , the lone deer is one of enchantment and paradise. Very well taken and presented! |

The sage and specimen Joshua tree make worthy foreground elements here. Did you consider moving your vantage point just to the left so you could compose to clear that half boulder on the left from your viewfinder ? That would be my only suggestion. |
