The leading lines in the image aid the mind's eye to fill in the depth information of this foggy scene and make the transition to B&W a successful one. |

The composition here is remarkable: all the picture elements come together in perfect harmony. The background shadows give way to a lighted channel at center, which leads the eye to the composition's ultimate goal, the rivulets flowing in the foreground. |

Your patience and photographic intuition have provided you with am unanticipated moment of beauty here. The swirling aspen leaves glow like jewels in the marvelous backlight. And you have captured it just the way it should be. It is a remarkable image! Congratulations! |

This composition of the cove is rich with sea shore treasures which comprise the main subject. Comparing the final version with the intitial, the colors have changed from a cool, magenta and blue to a hot , red-dominant set. This change definitely changes the mood of the image. Perhaps B&W toning would be a more effective way to convey what you want here. |

This is a really fine image. Congratulations. My sense is that this was early morning when the light is very fragile. Your adjusted version creates that impression, whereas your initial image does not. I prefer your version to Richard's, which to my eye creates enough background detail to take emphasis away from the balloon.
As a suggestion, if you use spot metering rather than matrix metering on your EOS 6D, you will tend to get your desired result out of the camera, in my experience. |
