70 May 20 Reply Yes, IR does very well in bright sunlight so long as you avoid lens flare, an issue with some of the short focal lenghth lens. That is one of its advantages over conventional photos taken over the full visual spectrum.

Thank you for your kind remarks!

70 May 20 Reply That crop choice definitely works. To my eye it limits the sense of infinity derived from including the vanishing point.

70 May 20 Comment Your technique of hand-holding the camera through five exposures is remarkable! Everything appears to be in order: alignment, relative sharpness, and well behaved sun glow. The bare profusion of trees in winter pretty much permeates this image, and conveys a palpable chill of a winter morning to the viewer. May 6th
70 May 20 Comment A delightful glow and feeling of warmth emanating is skillfully coaxed from the mist in this noteworthy image! May 6th
70 May 20 Comment Hi San! Very neat image. It has a dynamic visual flow: the overgrowth up the sides giving way to a directly lighted exit make the foreground seem like a den or cavernous area. My imagination pictures a lion or perhaps an emerging scene of a wolf from Romulus and Remus of mythology. An image that provokes the viewer's imagination is a good thing, in general. If the image had an element of interest in its rather large foreground, it would be even better. Welcome to DD70! May 6th
70 May 20 Comment The directional light illumines the subject very nicely here. The panoramic composition includes a number of the scenic desert plants like the ocotillo and young saguaro, in addition to the two foreground cacti - "chula" [ what I called "jumping cholla" during my AZ days ]. The chula have very interesting structures an features in their own right. Did you consider getting your camera in closer to one of these foreground elements ? May 6th
70 May 20 Comment The rivulets in the sand spread out like spider's legs. The photographer's keen eye brings dividends! The original seems to my eye the more interesting version of the two as it better conveys the details in the sand. May 6th
70 May 20 Comment The case is a treasure of geologic delights! And the prsence of a perfect "mirror" makes the image all the more riveting. The image is well captured and sharpness is good , even at the 1/30 sec exposure. Noise at iso 8000 in the shadows is not apparent at this resolution. The colored lights in the cave are a bit garish. I think San is on the right path with monochrome treatment here - the mono version seems to have more information and is the more intereting of the two. May 6th
