70 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Todd! I bumped up the background highlights a little, but stopped short out of concern that the cabin would become the subject. Oct 27th
70 Oct 19 Reply Thank you, Frans! I appreciate your suggestion on the white door. I started with the background dark as exposed, and then lightened the background highlights a bit. The endpoint is in the eye of the beholder! Oct 27th
70 Oct 19 Reply Thanks, Glen! Learning your reactions to the image is a valuable data point. Oct 27th

70 Oct 19 Comment The Palouse is a magical place, for sure! The wide variety of points of interest in the vast landscape scene depicted here well holds the viewer's attention. Comparing the two, your b&w version is the stronger, partly because of the deeper toned shadows. The color composition I suspect would have more presence by bumping up the mid-tone and shadow contrast. Very striking image! Oct 21st
70 Oct 19 Comment The first thing that stands out is the fidelity of the sky where a 3 dimensional depth is developed. The boulders in the foreground also contribute to the depth of the image. Overall it is a delightful viewing experience! The technique seems very complex and challenging to execute in the field. Perhaps in the future such a process will be implemented in-camera with firmware, but probably not by Canon. Oct 21st
70 Oct 19 Comment Really creative composition that uses the natural lines of the strand and the wave front to create the strong, visual "backbone" of this image. The point of view and scale compression of the 16mm lens yields a somewhat surreal mood. It was unfortunate that the tall building did not fit in the frame. Oct 10th
70 Oct 19 Comment The infrared effects nicely enhance this image which would probably look very ordinary in plain black & white. The simplicity of the composition and the rich sky all work together here. Very nice! Oct 9th
70 Oct 19 Comment You achieved a good result especially so considering the very challenging shooting conditions! The image is bright, colorful and yields an interesting view of the fjord. Oct 9th
