Franz, my "checked all the boxes" comment was intended to mean that you "hit a home run" with this image. |

I had thought that cameras used a uv cutoff filter to prevent the energetic, uv photons from clouding the film/digital sensor. I had never considered that there might actually be some benefit from exalting the uv content itself. Similarly to infrared, perhaps there are some creative uses for the uv spectrum in photography. Thanks for sharing your experiences! |

Well selected point of view and quite stunning lines in this "dune", with the dramatic switchback pathway up to the summit. I think the dramatic change in tones between the fore- and background adds an important element of context to the image. Well done! |

Glen, you are shooting like a veteran aerial photographer! The contrast between the dark channel and the aquamarine pools is stunning. Also love the s-curve composition. Wonderful image! Makes me want to go out and learn to fly a helicopter. |

A very worthy image and a model of what travel photography is about! Light here was subtle and your exposure looks just right to match the mood of the image. |

The tire tracks lead effectively out toward what appears to be the end of this peninsula. A bit of subtle dodging out around the rock outcropping would strengthen the composition. Makes me want to go back to Martha's Vineyard! |

This is a very worthy capture! Although a static scene, it is alive with the flow lines etched into the surface of the rocks, as well as the grain of the hillocks. It is frequently the case when on a tourist junket, that the sky does not work out right, or there are people in the way, or the light is too harsh, etc. In your case you seem to have checked all the boxes! The point of view presents some sense of imbalance at the top of the frame, but that mood seems to be in keeping with the overall motif of the image. Happy for you that you were able to realize your dream! |
