Thanks to All for your insightful comments and analysis! Several of your suggestions lead to a relocation of the horizon to the 1/3rd or the 2/3rd position, and that is a wise direction, especially for a "competition" image. My choice of composition here was aimed to take advantage of what the subject matter presented. |

Your image is a pleasing, bucolic scene that makes good use of the lake and reflections as an effective foreground. At first glance I notice that the clouds and distant mountiain range has diminished contrast and apparent sharpness, as compared to the mid-field trees. The histogram for the image shows an somewhat compressed dynamic range. The edited image posted here expands the tonal range and increases mid-tone contrast . The other members have offered effective ways to address the same issue.
The panoramic scene offers a sweeping view and as Todd points out, emphasizes the symmetry. I notice the white rance and reflection on the left side. To feature this subject , I have cropped the image to place the ranch and its reflection into the 1/3 positions on the left. I propose this as an alternative approach for your consideration. Finally, I notice some artifacts in the trees over at the left edge. I don't know what has caused this since you did not stitch this image - but it bears looking into to discover the source.
Nice work! |

An image that pretty well and effectively characterizes this region on a winter's day! I can feel the pain of those birds as well as the photog! |

Your technique certainly produced a noteworthy image with its two meteor tails and the sharply rendered star array in the night sky. Clark at link http://clarkvision.com/articles/night-photography-in-the-field-setup/, advises that with your camera (Canon EOS 5D family) you get best sensitivity at ISO 1600 shooting condition. |

A very interesting foreground with the notch, the morning light hitting the butte on the right, and the silhouette of the distant rock formations all work in harmony to present a riveting landscape! You might try dodging the foreground flora a slight amount without making them look unnaturally lighted. |

There are some good possibilities with these hydraulics. The 1 second expousre produces a noticeable amount of averaging to smooth the water flow toward silkiness. The image appears somewhat underexposed in the whites on my monitor and could benefit with another tuneup trip through the Lightroom panel. |

The lighting is very good for this close up image of an architectural treasure. Focus of viewer is unambiguously directed to the panel of three separate displays. The small light above keeps everything in balance while not requiring conscious eye movement upward. |
