The PSA Phototravel Interclub competition does not allow removal of objects such as the wires except by cropping. You should consult the rules of the particular competition for specific guidelines. |

Good technique to capture all of the wide dynamic tonal range. The bare tree conveys a sense of the winter solstice, but is a fairly subtle message. |

The texture of the falling water is nice. The combination of the barrel distortion and the absence of the top of the waterfall makes it difficult for me to visualize where the water is coming from. Pierre's adjustments reduce the barrel distortion some and are an improvement there. The key is using your 16mm rectilinear lens is adjusting it on the tripod so that the face of the lens is parallel to the vertical features you want to keep straight. |

Glen, the menacing clouds, the wave action splattering on the rocks and the sharp foreground rocks all combine to make this a winning image. You did a nice job in adjusting shutter speed to achieve the effect you wanted in the wave blast. We do not have the original here, but the foreground rocks look very dry whereas some signs that they were being drenched would add even more of a sense of energy to the image. Well done! |

It is a keeper but I am in with the consensus here that the main horse is just too close to the boundary to achieve the correct visual balance IMHO. Photoshop magic could yield improvement, but is perhaps wise to just accept the arrangement that nature provided and be happy.

Your image has a lot of "wow" factor with those striking red lines. In addition to picking the time of day to provide deep blue clouds for the background, the key was creating the red flow lines along the boulevard from passing traffic. These unify the entire image. As to improvements, the right border tends to catch my eye with the several starlights up high. Some selective burning in this area -or even a vignette - might be worthwhile to consider. |
