A worthwhile improvement overall. I would try to match the foreground brightness level with that of
your original image which I think leads to a better balanced image overall. |

Yes, the cropping you suggest eliminates the weed and the farming shed at the expense of some clipping in the foreground. Maybe that's a worthwhile tradeoff but I was already concerned with the clipped pumpkin leaf there.
Yes, saturation is pushed a bit too far. This was a print file adjusted for some compensation for an old printer ; I was unable to locate the original when I was looking for a seasonal image for this month's image. Also I have successfully cloned out that weed but it was a bit tedious to do. Thanks for your studied remarks! L. |

Very scenic locale with favorably soft and low temperature light. The line of trees across the foreground is reasonably sharp while everything beyond is very soft due apparently to the limited dof of the f/2.8 aperture. To me this broad expanse of wooded mountain and valley, rich with fall colors calls out for more sharpness , e.g. f/16 aperture, even if the iso has to be pushed a bit. Cheers! L. |

Everything is nice and sharp , so your balancing technique with available implements is impressive! Exposure in the foreground is very nice given the cloud color and marginal light from the setting sun. Cheers! L. |

I think the color in the foreground works here as a point of emphasis. Especially since the ocean looks very calm and uneventful. It might be a different case if the monochrome gray waves were crashing in on the rocks. But the rope coils are the most interesting subject. |

The place is a wonderland and the lighting superb! Excellent capture from the window of a tour bus. The horizon feels as though it is rotated based on the tilt in the cloud cover. While I had your image up in Photoshop for a rotation (losing precious geography in the process!), I also added some contrast to the distance through a mask. One would perhaps prefer that the road were located more to the left so that it might better align its far end with Denali's peak peeking through the cloud cover; but, from a tour bus window who is going to complain! |

A riveting scene that is remarkable for the composition which aligns the foreground rock with the broad falls in the distance. The rock is almost a hand that points to the falls - an excellent "leading line"! On my (Spyder4 calibrated) monitor the water seems to my eye to be a bit gray. I have taken the liberty of applying a levels layer to adjust the white point , and a curves layer to add a slight bit of contrast -both in Photoshop CS6 - which adds a bit of zest to the image. You might also profitably add a slight vignette to further emphasize the falls , though I did not do so here. |
