Yes , the body was modified to select light from the IR spectrum, and had its meter recalibrated for IR. It is only an 8 Mpixel camera however. |

Nicely exposed! Nifty how they lighted up this majestic falls at night. Cheers! Lamar |

A very lovely and inviting scene! It seems to be a grand and open vista, but this composition feels a bit confined between the trees at both edges. Cropping more of the tree on the right would help, as would eliminating the bare branches at the left edge. I like those grasses at the bottom left and wonder if the view from down there among them might not be the bettter one for your foreground. Cheers!, Lamar |

The panning produces an abstract quality - muting or eliminating lines or texture -that gives the image a distinctive look and feel. As we discussed panning with a quick stroke can also be used to introduce or to emphasize texture, something you might want to try on the spartina grass in the marsh.
On composition, the foreground appears to be merging into the apex of a "vee". Cutting off the apex of the "vee" as you have leaves an incomplete sense. The better choice would perhaps be to just eliminate the smaller wedge of green in the near foreground. Cheers! Lamar |

The sky contains a rich pallette of color. I get the sense that the horizon is tilted since both terrain and the dark line of clouds behind are both sloping down toward the left. That does not necessarily spell doom for the image, but it is one of the first things I notice when viewing this image, and it subsequently affects my impressions.
I will continue to encourage you to locate a venue that will enable you to take full advantage of the sunrise experience - a lake or pond, e.g., or perhaps a location with a simple but stimulating silhouette to include in the composition. Cheers, Lamar |

Kathryn, do you like this version better? It is sharpened less giving the palms a little different look. Thanks!
