The late afternoon light accents this rugged coastal scene very nicely. The broad panoramic view here tends to line up so as to emphasize the diagonal across the rock formations and toward the far spit of land on the horizion. Cropping differently on either the left or right creates other interesting views of the scenes as well ; e.g. the two rock formations near the shore as others have pointed out. |

Lovely fall colors and bucolic scene! A blue sky with a cloud or two would make it perfect! Your 5DMkIII has a built-in HDR feature will fire off three raw images at three exposures of your choosing, spitting out the in-camera combined HDR image as well as the three raw images. If you don't like the resulting, you can take the raw images into Photoshop and combine them as you wish. Here I would guess that if you set the mid-point at -1 stop and took a set at +/- 1 stops, and +/-2 stops you would find a combination that gives you the golden hues backed by a blue sky. |

Very powerful image! You were in the right place at the right time and set up your camera and shot timing precisely. As we discussed the symmetrical artifacts are better left out of this already impressive image. |

Your deft use of the zoom ring adds a unique and eye-catching visual to this night maritime scene! All the lights appear at this image size to be pretty sharp; quite a feat in combination with your tripod and remote shutter! Your subterfuge works perfectly here - I don't even notice the distracting barge. Composition works well here as well. Nice work! |

The light here is very fine! We see that it is incoming at a grazing angle by the demarcation of light-dark in the middle
of the tree line. This light can produce dramatic effects as you see in the wispy clouds. A good foreground element can make your landscapes more interesting. Often ordinary, grasses/weeds in the foreground that stick up a foot or so will be caught in the low angle light while their immediate background will be dark, creating a dramatic foreground element!
Lightroom for Canon raw images uses Adobe ProPhoto color space. This has a broader "gamut" than sRGB and will make colors "punch"-ier. I would guess your Lightroom is set to assign ProPhoto to external editors: see Edit>Preferences>External Editing for what color space it is assigning to Adobe Acrobat X. |
