Very nice photo (and the one in your 2/4 comment)! These do a great job of capturing what you were seeing and feeling at that moment! It makes me ponder as to what this would have been like to experience. Nice work and thanks for sharing! |

Nice Image Cindy! I really like the old time feel of this image, especially shown in the wagon. I agree with the others that perhaps B&W could be investigated since the original has a limited color palette. Nice work! |

WOW! Beautiful image, and the fact that it was all done 'in camera' is another WOW! Others have already stated what I would say. My only suggestion is to print this image and hang it in a prominent place where all can see it. |

Very nice image of a bird preparing for flight! Nice sharp details and a very nice color palette. I like that the pelican is slightly off center to the right to emphasize its 'steps' in preparation for takeoff! Thanks for sharing! |

I love this image! The tonal contrasts are excellent and the details are perfect. I also like the story line...in my mind the dark tunnel is mysterious and the people sitting on the left side allows me to ponder whether they are waiting to go into the tunnel, or just came from the tunnel. There are many possibilities. It is very impressive that you were able to take an old negative and utilize it again via LR and PS.
On a side note, I really like your comment to Will stating that LR & PS are the new darkroom. That encouraged me to enroll in the PSA Photoshop class to learn more and provide another option along with LR. Thank you for this! |

Excellent image! I like the diagonal flow of the various elements which guides my eyes easily through the image. The colors are of a darker tone, which catches my eyes immediately. My preference is to view this image in its entirety, going from one object to another. In my opinion, the cropped pan adds a little mystery to the photo. This is an excellent still life image. I've always wanted to jump into still life photography in a more serious manner but haven't started as yet. This image is encouraging me to do so. Thanks for sharing this. |

Thanks Chan! I truly appreciate your insights and comments! I have always been a big fan of bright, vibrant colors. I did not notice the foreground grass being in competition with the sky, and I agree it is too bright. I like what you have done with the image and will definitely look into revising it accordingly. Thanks again! |

Thank you for your detailed comments on my image! These comments made me think and are very much appreciated. As each artist has a different vision, here are some of my thoughts regarding the image: (1) as far as the colors, I wanted to emphasize the sky as this is the main focal point of the image. I did use the Vibrance slider along with the luminance sliders for each color channel to bring out the colors (I rarely use the Saturation slider). These colors were enhanced, but are pretty much what the sky was that morning; (2) as far as the overall softness...I agree. This is due to the image being cropped. However, in my opinion, this softness contributes to the overall scene of a calm Spring morning; (3) your comment, "also looks bad..." is a little disturbing.
Thank you again for providing your insights and allowing me to learn. |
