Nice work! The puffins and the foreground rock is in sharp focus with the water background slightly out of focus. I believe this adds to the beauty of this image. Also, the puffin with the fish in its mouth adds to the interest of the image. |

Nice work! Humming birds are hard to photograph (I've tried with mixed success). You have done a very good job with this image. Others have noted the faster shutter speed to capture the wings, of which I agree. I also agree that perhaps removing the white in the upper right corner should be considered. However, in my opinion I would keep the details of the feeder in the lower right corner for overall perspective. Again, nice work! |

This a beautiful image! I would have guessed that the subject is a close up with motion of a multi-colored vase. The variation of the colors throughout is mesmerizing and catches my attention. Thank you... |

Wow, excellent photo! I really like the silhouette aspect in this image as well as the positioning of the sunrise. I also like the sky color at this time of morning and how you handled it. When I first looked at the image I noted the single cloud in the sky and thought it might be a distraction. However in looking at the image further and studying all aspects, I believe the cloud adds to the value of the image as it is a part of the sky you photographed. Again, excellent! Thank you for sharing... |

An excellent image and very interesting. I like how you handled the composition here with the 2 vases slightly staggered. The sharpness of the vases is, in my opinion, spot on. The thing that stands out to me in this image is the total effect of your post processing of the image. In my opinion, the table on which the vases (or other objects) rest can in many cases distract from the subject of the image. However, not in this image as the table has been minimized through the post processing, thus allowing me to focus more on the beauty of the vases. I also want to mention that in one of your responses above you use the term "artistic effect" and in other earlier submissions you have used the term "artistic vision". I really appreciate this as it has helped me view our work in photography as art and has encouraged me to think about my own personal artistic vision when working with my images. Thank you for this!! |

Very interesting image which definitely holds my attention! The juxtaposition of the ice and the moving water is very interesting. I also believe that the B&W conversion adds to the message of the image and allows me to better contemplate its various aspects, much better that a color version would. Thanks for sharing and again, making me think! |

Thanks Chan, I truly appreciate your comments! I too agree with Lance's crop for the photo. As noted in our recent bulletin board group post, this is an opportunity to learn. You, and the others in the group, have provided great insights...thank you! |

Thanks Steven, I appreciate your comments! I agree with the crop provided by Lance. Interesting thoughts regarding the black background and where the image ends. In looking again at the image, I see your point as I am unable to determine the end of the photo. I didn't really think of that, but something to take note of the next time. |

Thank you Cindy, I appreciate your comments and insights! As far as the black backgound, this is natural. I was walking along and noted this lone flower tucked away into a larger bush. I also agree that I should have removed the twig or at least cropped it out. |
