Excellent image! The moonlight contrasted with the city light is handled very well. I also appreciate the moonlight reflection on the water as it adds to the value of the image. The foreground bridge is sharp, detailed, and well lit. This is a great image, thanks for sharing it! |

Very nice image! The gull with the crab stands out well as the main subject. The rest of the foreground activity is also well covered. I also like how the DOF is handled in this image. Thanks for sharing! |

Very nice image! The foreground is sharp and in focus. The blurred background and bokeh is excellent. I agree with Jenifer in perhaps toning down the window light a little. However, as is, this does not take away the value of this image. Well done, thanks for sharing! |

Excellent image! The details, lines, and tonal range is excellent. As others have stated, this really enhances the 3D effect. Personally I like the objects without a tabletop to set on as it allows me to concentrate on the vases and basket. I really appreciate your description of the process you used, especially the use of natural light. I'm studying portrait photography in natural light and starting to see the value of natural lighting. As you have shown, natural light also works very well with still life photography. Thanks for sharing this! |

Very nice silhouette image! The white background contrasted with the black silhouette squirrel and tree foliage provides a very interesting story line...very relaxing and as your title states, "chilling out". The artistic perspective here is great! Thanks for sharing this! |

Thanks Will! I generally (1) process the image in LR (color, contrast, crop, etc); (2) in this case I edited the LR processed image with Nik Color Efex Pro 2 to enhance color; (3) I then edited the image with Nik Detail Extractor to bring out details. Care must be taken with this filter as it will add noise to the image. I use this process mostly with cars/trucks/engines, etc., but it could work with other subjects as well. I'm sure there are better ways to do this, I just started this process via trial & error over the years. Thanks again! |
