Excellent photo Jennifer! I agree with Chan's comments as this is an excellent B&W conversion. The tonal contrast from black to white is excellent! I really like the story line in this photo set against the overall landscape. This is an excellent photo that would look great framed and hanging on a wall. Thanks for sharing! |

Very nice photo! The comments by the others are spot on in my opinion. To Lance's point, looking at the subject from the perspective of what we see with our eyes vs. what the camera sees (our eyes have a greater dynamic range than a camera). This is hard to come tot terms with and I am still in a learning curve with this. I like the close up of the flower and the color and detail are excellent! The overall depth of field is very good as well. Excellent...thanks for sharing! |

In my opinion, what you've done with this image makes it more than a passing "snap shot". This image is well composed with great detail. The lighting and reflections are handled very well. In addition, the B&W conversion is excellent and adds to the quality of the photo. Excellent photo, thanks for sharing! |

Great image! The dominant red color of her sweater makes your wife stand out, especially with the darker trees in the background. In my opinion this firmly establishes her as the primary point of interest. I also like the detail and texture of the trees surrounding her, which adds to the quality of this photo. Thank you for sharing the original image and how you had to crop for the final photo. I've had to do this at times and was not sure how I felt about it. This image is a great quality photo and teaches me that I can take this liberty to crop when needed and still have a quality image. Thanks for sharing! |

Very interesting image! I studied the photo for some time before I read your description, doing this to allow me to better understand what I am seeing. I really like the primary patterns in the sand, which is what my eyes were drawn to first. I also noted some secondary patterns around the artifact which adds to the photo. The artifact itself is very interesting and the texture is beautifully captured. I find it interesting what can be photographed while on a walk at the beach (or in the park, or wherever we are). Thanks for submitting this image allowing me to ponder, think, and learn! |

Thanks Lance, I appreciate your insight! I always have difficulty establishing the photographic categories...travel photography vs. landscape photography or close up vs. macro. Thanks for helping with this.
Also, thanks for the insight regarding B&W conversion for this image. I need to start looking at photos from the B&W perspective, both when taking the photo and in post production. |

Thanks Chan, I appreciate your insights and comments! I agree regarding the water spray at the bottom being blown out. I had not noticed this before, but definitely see it now. This will be corrected...thanks for pointing this out. |
