Very interesting image with a great story line. Street scenes are difficult, this one is excellent. Regarding whether to straighten the image or not...my opinion is that the image as you have it is more realistic for a street scene. The woman is vertical to the image as it is and I think if you tried to square it, you would then have to deal with other issues. Also, regarding the crop, again I like it like it is. I have the tendency to crop too much and I am learning to allow more space in my photos. Nice work! |

Very interesting and creative image. Nice contrast between the signs and the water. The DOF is perfect and the reflection of the trees adds to the quality. This photo has a great story line. Nice work! |

Very creative image! Great use of color and like others have mentioned, I like the composition as it is not centered. This image makes me take time and think...thank you! |

Great creative image. I like the idea of the reflection of the hands and a portion of the keyboard. I agree with the above comments regarding the brightness of the hands. Very creative, nice work! |

Nice work making the best of a grey day and a not-so-good situation! I like the simple structure of this image. The black & white conversion is perfect for this kind of day. My eye travels along the vine throughout the photo. Nice work! |

Wow, I like both photos! Each tells a different story. Great use of light and shadow. Nice detail, especially her eye in both images. Black and white is perfect for this! Excellent! |

Thanks Lance, appreciate your comments and forcing me to think things through! A couple of comments:
I agree that ISO800 is too high and noise is a problem/consideration. I believe what drove this is a lack of planning for this photo (was using this ISO for other images at the same outing). Lesson learned...
As far as the DOF, I agree that this is a consideration with all images. With f/11 and the proper focus point, DOF should be handled well (still learning this). However, with the overall story line and the question in my write-up, "Where does this bridge lead to?" perhaps a somewhat blurred end of bridge enhances that question. Food for thought... |

Thanks Steven! The image you provided for some reason doesn't appear anymore. However, recently I did study what you put together and I really like what you have done with the photo. This is more of what I had in mind with the image. Thanks for your input and helping me with this! |
