87 Jun 21 Comment Great image, very thought provoking! The candle flames with their reflections causes me to really study the image. In reference to the discussions above regarding the position of the hand, to me the placement of the hand on the right allows the candles to lead me to the hand with the match (left to right viewing). Perhaps this is a focus more on the hand than the candles. There is also merit in flipping the image, which in my opinion makes the focus on the candles as opposed to the hand. This is another example of a photo that causes us to think, which is always a good goal. Thanks for posting this image and causing me to think! Jun 7th
87 Jun 21 Comment Jennifer...very well done! The light/shadow contrast across the vegetation really creates a lot of interest and quality in this image. Also, an excellent job in enhancing the light from the original, which in turn enhances the shadows. I also like the way the light/shadows form leading lines to guide my eyes through the image. The black & white conversion is another plus. Excellent photo! Jun 7th
87 Jun 21 Comment Great image! I agree with the others, the larger image with the fence adds more interest. I also like the inclusion of the photographer's shadow as it furthers the quality and interest of this image. The grass texture is a good add on quality as well. Very nice work allowing us to learn the effects of shadows! Jun 7th
87 Jun 21 Comment Excellent image showing the idea of "painting with shadows". I agree with the comments from others that the warming and flipping really enhanced the original image. To me, the shadows create a lot of interest and are very well defined. Nice work! Jun 7th
