63 Jul 24 Comment Great capture here. The subject and background are both appropriately sharp yet the moth is still cleanly displayed. Here one might suggest that the background is a bit distracting, but to my eye this is part of the story. I like how the background is distracting yet complementary to the subject, giving a glimpse as to how the moth blends into its environment. I agree that the composition is a bit confining and might benefit some by adding a bit more to the right and top regions. Jul 31st
63 Jul 24 Comment A great tack sharp image that not only shows the natural coloration and plumage of the subject, but also relates a bit of it's personality as well. The subject is wonderfully detailed while the background is soft and appealing. Nice Job ! Jul 31st
63 Jul 24 Comment Great image. I like how you chose to "focus in" (if you forgive my pun) on the head of this subject allowing the aft part to the bug to go soft. This draws our attention to the head and all of the wonderful detail that you captured here. I might of removed some of the halo effect that we observe on the yellow leg in the lower left quadrant in an attempt to make it as sharp as what we see on the right side. Nice capture though! The subject does appear to blend in a bit with the environment, thus all of the suggestions above regarding selective darkening to make the subject stand out from the surrounds. As noted earlier the subject can be emphasized via selective sharpening and tonal adjustment to more effectively relate your story. Jul 31st
