Set-up was not too challenging when the cat wasn't swatting the M&Ms (great cat fun). |

Good capture. Here in this single frame, you needed to rely on the aperture to obtain your depth of field. I suspect that given the size of your subject, using f/22 might not give you more appreciable depth of field. You are at the edge of the magnification range where aperture impacts your depth of field. That being said I feel that enough of the subject is sharp enough to tell your story. Personally, I like the composition, and balance here. Having a bit of the bloom on the left aids in giving us a feel for the environment that we find this critter in and contributes to this presentation. |

You don't know how many M&Ms I started with. These are only those which survived the shoot ... |

What a fun still life. In this image (a suspect that these are carnations rather than mums) the colors and clarity is great, while the light is a bit flat. As such, the is not a lot of apparent depth within this image. Here I would darken the backdrop slightly (above the termination line) and add a slight shadow to this presentation. Adding a bit of grain to the tabletop would also aid in this presentation as well, as the angle this this was shot down (high, looking down) giving an odd perspective to the main subject. I have included an example of such edits to illustrate my thoughts … |

Congratulations on being a Nikonian Wildlife winner. This image does have quite a bit of character … To my eye, the left edge of the Iguana's head (as we are looking at it) does blend in with the background a bit reducing the impact of this presentation. Here I might suggest darkening the body on this side slightly to obtain more separation in this area of the image. |

This image is composed nicely, and the colors and sharpness are spot on. It is a bit busy in that there is a lot going on and the dried wood branch is competing with the pick bloom for my attention. Since this was taken quite a while ago it's not easy to go back, but with your current experience you might be able to note this next time you take a similar image. Nice Job! |

In this image you have done a wonderful job in capturing the color and detail within this bloom. As noted earlier the addition of the black background was also quite effective. As presented the image does look a bit flat in that we are losing a bit of the depth in this image. Here I might suggest darkening the petals that are furthest away from us, slightly. This will add back some of the native depth within this image. I have included an example of such an edit to illustrate my thoughts … |

The larger M&M were a different type (I think they were caramel filled). Good Eye ! |
