If it makes you feel better I was going thru these again on the 20th and my wife liked your photo. Actually she likes any thing with red in it. |

It is a good subject and well balanced shot. I do think you are on the correct path with your statement. I can see the light was from camera right and it is lighting up the barn and shed nicely. So I think you need to add more of a separation between them and the foreground and background to make it pop a bit more. It is a nice overall photo just needs a bit of tweaking. |

I will have to echo David on this image. I feel the lack of a central interesting point leaves my eye wondering all over the image. |

Great shot, you nailed the exposure, no overblown highlights on that white bird. It can be hard with that dark blue background but you got it. You did nice cleaning up on the image. The branch in front is a bit distracting, I feel more so because the rest of the image is so clean, but it is not a killer. The average Joe who does not know birds may be a bit puzzled about this one legged bird. |

Great focus, nice sharpness with out over doing it. Got the
catch light in eye. You do have noticeable chromatic coloring on the edges of the bird. I also agree with David that the image would be enhanced by a different background. |

I feel you made a good decision to reverse the image, it now has a very natural flow from left to right. I like how my eye moves around the image and then you have the red barn as anchor. I like the palate knife effect that you added good job on cleaning up the halo. |
