Butch, you and your friends planned to control all aspects of lighting and background to achieve the technically excellent result. Setting up your zoom telephoto lens at 270mm allowed for not scarring the subject and having the elements sharp and in focus. I assume you used the electronic shutter. You nailed it Butch. Sorry for my late response but it could not be helped. |

Nice image Gaetan. A candid image depicting six buddies gathered on a sunny afternoon playing carts or something else under a shelter, with a bicycle nearby. In focus, exposure with soft lighting. Everyone seems comfortable and relaxed. Sorry for my late review, but could not be helped.

Hoshedar, I do agree with the comments and suggestions given by others. Years back I did portrait work. I would not have posed her this way, with both body and face turned in lock-step to the side. |

I wanted to see how the pebble image would appear flipped horizontally. Also brought up the black value. Classic abstract Judith. No clue this was a sand pebble. Intriguing.
The lateness of my response was unavoidable. Sorry. |

Well composed Barbara. The Juniper trunk serves as a major leading line to the late afternoon sunlit branches and leaves. The leaves contrast well with the magenta background. One's eyes then are attracted to the highlighted rock formation. The curving lines of the trunk and the shape of the rocks also attract. |

Unfortunately this rare species passed in 2018. Thanks for your comments Hoshedar. |

The unusual composition came about from my position overhead. The almost pure white leg was due to the light reflection at that time. I attempted to tone it down without giving it away I had made an adjustment in post, wrong. |

Yes,I too noticed the legs were almost pure white as light reflected that day. Actually I attempted to tone the legs down a notch without making my action too obvious. Wrong |

I just had a chill up my arm, Tom. A story for sure. The red contrasting against the pure white snow definitely contrasts. I too like to maintain snow without detail in the background. |
