7 Aug 23 Comment Paul, this resulted from my burning and doging to taste, with no consideration given to light direction.
Got me.

7 Aug 23 Comment A second creative approach was achieved by reducing the orange value in the b&w mixer to the max. Some may like it, several likely will not. Who cares. Some enjoy experimenting. Aug 13th
7 Aug 23 Comment Hoshedar, I believe your image is fine as is. Your silhouetting draws the viewer's attention to the image. The warmish sky adds beauty and gathers attention. I have provided two other approaches just for the heck of it. First, the contrast was increased in PS by a value of 30, add saturation was increased by 13. Then converted to b&w. To smooth the water's surface, I applied negative texture to taste, and negative black by 12. A creative approach was achieved in my next reply. Aug 13th
7 Aug 23 Reply I do agree Hoshedar with your points about brightening. I did purposively leave the image darker to render a moody impression. I guess that experiment did not work. Aug 13th
7 Aug 23 Reply Yes I do agree with you Judith. Aug 13th

A warm welcome to our group Judy. Your submitted image offers exceptional depth-of-field for f 7.1. The well-lit blossom is set off nicely by the faintly lit background, which I must ask if it is hand painted? Yes, your composition does suggest melancholy with the main collection of blossoms leaning over and the lower arrangement just dropped off. Nice work Judy.

7 Aug 23 Comment The iris is definitely photogenic with it beauty and varying contours. The water droplets really add. Creating negative space also adds to your creative image. Excellent. Aug 6th
7 Aug 23 Comment I like the subtle lighting from being in the shade, the angle in your composition placing the subject completely in his zone and how concentrated the subject is. The focus falls off in the background as one would expect at f8. Sharp image. Fine capture Tom.
