Gaetan, thank you for the history of this ancient powder mill in Mauritius. Your processing corrected not only the vertical structure, but also the flat and cool tone. Nice work. |

What a stunning image, Hoshedar. The brilliance of the features is intense. I agree with Gaetan to tone it down a bit. My taste would be brighter than his and leaving the body the original tone. Nice image. |

Orchids are indeed great subjects for macro shooting. The contour of the petals, diffused lighting and softness of focus help your image, Tony. While applying Topaz DeNoise helped your image, there is still evidence of high denoise processing around the outer edge of the center pedal. Otherwise, with other's comments considered, a nice capture. |

Lovely capture Barbara. To say the least about the sharpness and the stabilizing hands you have. My thought was to crop to a square, then use the spot healing brush to clone out the distracting bright leaves. Great job. |

Your idea of blurring the image increase the abstract quality is wonderful. I will definitely play with that. |

Hoshedar. converting to black and white changes the game. I would likely change some properties to my taste. For instance, I would likely selectively increase the contrast in an area or two to attract viewers attention. I would also lessen the high number of specular highlights to decrease their distraction.
Thanks for your suggestions. |

Thank you Barbara for your thoughts. I might either clone away the log or crop it out, not decided yet. I received a suggestion to convert to b&w, where the log is not distracting by Hoshedar. |

What would we give to have had diffused lighting while we were visiting. Next down the list I think of HDR imagery on a return trip. That to the side I like Tony's approach with layers. Through selective adjustments to Brightness in several areas of the image I attempted to lessen the distraction of specular highlites, to increase the balance of lighting throughout. |
