Hi Paul. I like the interest generated by the white duck and therefore favor Barbara's suggestion. It would also be favorable going with the 2nd suggestion by Tony. |

Nice capture Grace. As presented, I favor the color rendition as it draws one's eyes more than the b & w conversion. I find many flat areas in the b & w version. However, with adjustments I would prefer it in b & w due to there is a lot going on in your image. I think you have two images; one is the foreground with it rich rendering of interesting detail and a second, which starts halfway up and features the waterfalls. I would increase the contrast in the upper half prior to converting and also crop off the top sky area to taste. Great find. |

Hoshedar, your lighting, focus, sharpness and composition are fine My personal taste is to have a tad more separation in the subject from the background. Barbara's exposure adjustment would accomplish that. Myself I would the whitish branch toward the upper left side. If you rotated your image to a diagonal, you would create more tension and thus, interest. Excellent first attempt. |

I like that the most important part of your image appears to be sharp enough Tony. You have captured the story. The flower frames your image well. |

I have always enjoyed your images with subtle colors for contrast Barbara. I feel this is an excellent capture - technically, composition and lighting. It is great as is. |

Your image catches my eye very well Tom. Your subjects pop to some degree, due to sharpness, saturation and near color opposites. I agree with lessening the saturation of the flowers to the upper left. If I may, my taste suggests toning down the subject lavender plant as well, giving full attention to the swallowtail. I like your image. |
