One can feel the rush you must have felt, Paul, being in the moment and the excitement of recording the sensation. I would favor creating more drama in and giving more attention to the sky. To me that could bring more emphasis to the coming storm. I would crop up from the bottom as depicted by Tony. Also, I would be careful about sharpening the waves. If one goes too far, it just beckons one to look away. |

You have a nice capture here Grace. I definitely favor separation of your subject from the spectators and sign. I believe that aspect is required to bring immediate attention to the subject. Otherwise the eyes are just meandering through out the image. |

Les, I really like the lighting and how it brings out the color yellow, the vines and what appears to have resulted from applying templates with paint. To me the brightness in the top 37% or so just overpowers the tone obtained below. I would favor using whatever combination of tools to simply bring the brightness down to be compatible with everything else. Very interesting capture though. |

Tony, I like the subtleness obtained overall by your image and the composition. I also enjoy the contrast in color. When it comes to the sharpness obtained in the water droplets I am conflicted Tony. The exceptional sharpness brings contrast to stand out. Then to Barbara's point, I also feel one looses the overall soft tone. |

I also favor capturing the rose against a natural white background of snow. The adjustment Barbara made was right on for my taste. Your composition is simple and pleasurable. I agree with eliminating the distractions in the upper right, but also cloning out more of the background in the top center and left side. Very nice. |
